Hostess

This Hostess campaign was done by Lisa McDaniel (AD) and Josie Mitchell (CW) at SMU. Thoughts on the headline campaign: Is this an example of art direction helping the headlines sing?

I know that hostess snacks are unhealthy, but the headlines make unhealthy unappealing to me.

I think the colors of the art direction may be taking away from the deliciousness of Hostess snacks.

I think the idea of "so deliciously wonderful that its worth the unhealthiness," might provide a better benefit.

It looks like fun was had while making these.

That's enough for me.

Fun is right. It's a little busy for me, but wow, these are just a fucking hoot.

Love 'em.

I agree with Mr. R. Falch. These are great-self deprecating, honest, and sweet to look at.

I really don't understand why they used candy as part of the AD. Hostess doesn't make candy... and I agree with Brock. Aside from not making this product any more appealing, you can barely see the Twinkie/Snowball. These are ads after all...
