Match Point

Another lovely little Friday afternoon distraction: Layer Tennis. It's a little back-and-forth between designers. It starts with one image created by the first competitor. Then the opponent has fifteen minutes to use the original image to create something new. And so forth and so on. They each have five volleys.

Today's is Marian Bantjes (!) and Armin Vit. Upcoming matches are listed in the sidebar.

Now you know what I'll be doing for the rest of the day.

I agree...how would that work?

Does one writer start a piece of copy--whether that's a headline, or longer copy--and another finishes, or adds to it?

not sure if those formats would lend themselves to the idea. maybe a story that writers can chip into? new characters or scenes can start whenever someone comes up with them. yeah, i'd do this. the only kicker is that you continuously play off of the previous entry in some form or fashion.

That's the point of Layer Tennis--that you build on what's "volleyed" to you.

We'll have to find contestants. Whose game?

*maybe a separate column could be set up on the side. that way we still look at the posted work and can contribute on the ongoing story without having to scroll.
